Betsy has been helping the North Haven Historical Society settle into its new facility. She is cataloging the archives, creating community programs, and collaborating with the new North Haven Community School on integrating the new facility into the curriculum.
Betsy is from Preston, Connecticut, but has family in Owls Head, Maine. She received her B.A. in History in 2008 from Connecticut College, concentrating in Imperialism and Nationalism. In 2006, Betsy traveled to Zagreb, Croatia, on an independent study mission, "Engendering the Independent Media: Societal Change and Media Reform in Belgrade, Serbia," then traveled to Geneva, Switzerland, to focus on international studies, organizations and social justice. Betsy was an intern/production assistant for Contact Quarterly/Contact Editions in Florence, MA and was senior editor for Expose, the Journal for Interdisciplinary Inquiry at Connecticut College. She has coached figure skating for the Symmetrical Skating School in New London, Connecticut, and has worked as a caterer and bakery assistant for Atlantic Baking in Rockland, and Connecticut College's catering service.
