Press Release written by Rambler’s Way Farm
KENNEBUNK, ME—We’re excited to share with you our latest environmental initiative. We’re partnering with the Island Institute, a key community nonprofit organization near and dear to our home state of Maine. Ramblers Way Farm employees will contribute 5% of their paid work hours volunteering for the Island Institute.
As Maine natives, the Chappell Family, Founders of Ramblers Way Farm, have for years supported the work of the Island Institute. In the spirit of his successful business model at Tom’s of Maine, Tom Chappell now encourages Ramblers Way employees to donate their time regularly in an effort to fully immerse themselves in the company values, which speak to quality, ethics, sustainability and community support.
Tom Chappell adds, “We have grown up caring actively for conservation and service to the non-profits whose mission aligns with our family values. After a meaningful use of volunteer time at Tom’s of Maine, we instill the same ethic at Ramblers Way.”
Island Institute
Ramblers Way Farm announces a partnership with Island Institute to support efforts for the sustainability of Maine’s remote coastal communities. The organization is made up of individuals who exchange new ideas based on innovation and experience to sustain coastal communities both locally and on a larger scale. They are a vital link for islanders to resources on the mainland. Programs include education, economic development and community energy. The Chappells have taken great interest in supporting the work of the Island Institute, and are major donors in the name of natural, sustainable energy.
How can you make a difference? From Earth Day, April 22nd, through May 1st, every purchase from Ramblers Way clocks one volunteer hour in the Give Back Bank. Then, follow the story, as we show you the work we’re doing to make an impact.
