This event is part of Talk of the Towns, a series of gatherings and conversations convened by the Town of Stonington, hosted by Opera House Arts, and sponsored by Island Institute, on topics that directly impact island and area residents.
Our quickly warming ocean is home to new species migrating northward, and is rising to flood causeways, roads, homes and even Main Street. The first in a new, free series of gatherings and conversations convened by the Town of Stonington and its community partners on topics that directly affect our local communities.
The gathering will include the screening of a short film and conversation facilitated by Linda Nelson, Stonington’s Economic & Community Development Director, with the audience and special guests Kathleen Billings, Stonington Town Manager; Alexa Dayton, Executive Director, and Carla Guenther, Chief Scientist, Maine Center for Coastal Fisheries (MCCF); Travis Fifield, Stonington Selectman and Fifield Lobster Company; Susie Arnold, Director, Center for Climate and Community, the Island Institute; and Carl Wilson, Maine Department of Marine Resources (DMR), Director, Bureau of Marine Science.
This event is free and there is no need to register. Lobby opens at 6pm for beverages and snacks.
