About the Event:
CONVERGENCE is a new initiative that explores how art and science shape perception. Through conversations, workshops, and events, Hurricane Island is engaging artists and scientists in dialogue about how each of these practices ask us to pay attention to the world around us.
Event Information:
Artworks are available for purchase in an online auction which opens August 15th, and on display at Pascal Hall in Rockport 9/25, 26, and 27 from 1-4pm, with a final art fundraising event held on the evening of September 28 at Pascal Hall in Rockport. The event will celebrate the art of Convergence, raise funds to support Hurricane Island Programs, and thank our participating artists, sponsors, and patrons.
Please bring your phone or tablet with you to the event as bidding will continue until 7pm. Competitive bidding on an item will extend bidding on that item in 15 minute increments until the highest bid is reached.
The event will include an open bar with beer and wine, hor d’oeuvres, and silent auction with online bidding that begins in the weeks beforehand. Carl Little will be on hand to speak and sign copies of his latest book, The Art of Penobscot Bay, in which many of the participating artists are featured.
