At Island Institute, Emma fills the role of Grants and Events Associate, accomplishing administrative duties for Island Institute’s grant programs and ensuring that funding requests are funneled through the awarding process. She also coordinates the organization’s events, both digital and in-person. She is a part of the Program Impact team.
Emma graduated from University of Vermont with a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, and after earning her degree, she worked for the City of Portland’s Sustainability Office as a City Sustainability Fellow where she implemented programs and initiatives tied to the city’s climate action plan.
Emma was born, raised, and educated in Vermont, and later moved to Maine. She lives with her partner in Owls Head, and enjoys spending time outdoors—skiing, sailing, gardening, and going on walks with her dog Arlo.
