Julia is passionate about helping individuals and families make an impact in their communities through the work and programs of the Island Institute. As a Philanthropy Advocate, she grows philanthropic revenue and ensures that gifts are directed towards the areas of greatest need while aligning with the priorities of the donor.

Julia was first connected to Island Institute in 2007 and 2008 when she worked as a crewmember for Mohegan Boat Line and got a glimpse into some of the challenges facing island and coastal communities in Maine. Prior to joining Island Institute, she worked on the development team as the Events Manager at Maine Cancer Foundation for five years.

A resident of Portland, she enjoys running, sailing, and—in the summer—spending time on Hupper Island in Saint George.
