As the Digital Marketing Specialist, Julia is responsible for the execution and optimization of digital marketing campaigns to drive a measured increase in website, email, and social media engagement and to grow Island Institute’s brand awareness.  Julia is a key resource for the Marketing Team and other internal teams to maximize the impact of Island Institute’s marketing and communications technologies, implementing design improvements, providing training and creating documentation, and working to optimize systems and processes to advance Marketing Team goals.

Originally from the Czech Republic, Julia has long had family ties to Prince Edward Island. She came to New England for college, studying biology and art at Williams College in Western Massachusetts. She has worked in design and marketing for an art museum and for a public library and has also spent time doing freelance marketing and design. She received her Master’s of Fine Arts in Visual Art from The Ohio State University. Julia moved to Maine because she was inspired by our state’s natural beauty and inspiring landscapes.

Outside of work, she is also a film photographer, an avid clammer, and enjoys hiking with her dog.
