Lucia Daranyi (Deer Isle & Stonington Fellow, William Bingham Fellowship in Rural Education, Adult & Community Education): Deer Isle & Stonington’s Adult & Community Education is about to move physical locations which will allow for increased community offerings. Lucia will join their team of two staff to assist with this growth primarily through outreach and engagement, and Lucia will collect stakeholder feedback and provide one-on-one programmatic support. Adult & Community Education sees a real need in the community to support those making career transitions or whose jobs, like lobstermen, will require new technological skills for tracking and reporting. Lucia grew up on Peaks Island and being an Island Institute fellow has been a goal of hers.
